One Deep Breath - One line haiku

I haven't posted anything to my blog in a long time and it feels good to get back to poetry and hums. This week at One Deep Breath the prompt is one line haiku. These are my first attempts at such and they were fun to do. My favorite poetry is always short. I think these one line poems will be new favorites, both to read and write.

Fiery-necked Nightjar laces her song around the moonlight
~~~
Pink blossoms drip from bending branches of a weeping cherry tree
~~~

Bent and bruised blade of grass bleeds green on knee

I love the simplicity of all of these, but the second one is especially my favorite- I just love cherry blossoms!

I grew up hearing Nightjars, so the first is my favorite.

I vote for the second, too.

if these are your first one-line haiku then well done

fiery-necked nightjars are something I've never heard of [this might read better if you drop the "the"]

in the second I feel that having used the word "drip" then "weeping" is a redundant word and would be best cut.

the third is great but then I'm a sucker for well-used alliteration

I enjoyed them all, but it was your third one, grass, that stood out for me.

I love the last one. Noticing the little things, that some many overlook, or disregard. Perfect.

I like the pink blossom one, reminds me when I was in Singapore during the Cherry Blossom season.
