One Deep Breath - Spicy Fibs

The prompt this week from One Deep Breath is Spicy Fibs. These are haiku written using the Fibonacci Sequence of 1,1,2,3,5,8. I'd never tried this before, but it was really fun!

Sweet
Dough
Rolled in
White sugar
Mixed with cinnamon
Bake up to be Snickerdoodles
~~~~
Fine
Salt
Crystals
Sprinkled on
Fluffy white popcorn
Washed down with cold Coca-Cola
~~~
For the last one is used the fib sequence but skipped the spice part of the prompt. I read an article recently about a paper that has proven that sound can produce light, and thus it can be scientifically suppported that the universe was spoken into existence by God. Read more about this here.
God
Made
All things
By speaking
Sound produces light
Let it be...God saw it was good

Friday Felicitations

This week's felicitations:

1) One of our Sunday School members said he enjoyed my comments in class. This meant a lot because our class is mostly older people who are very wise and mature in their faith. I've learned so much from them.

2) I was complimented on the poem that appeared in our church newsletter.

3) My husband told me he loves me so many times this week. He's the best.

One Deep Breath - Shelter

The prompt this week at One Deep Breath is Shelter. Here are two very different takes on the prompt. The first is just fun, the second more of a prayer.

Plastic rain poncho
Useless against Florida rain
Disney fun goes on
~~~~~~
Shelter me, O Lord
For you are my strong tower
Let me run to you
(Proverbs 18:10)
Friday Felicitations
I'm a day late with these, but that's ok.
1. I found out that there are several stay-at-home moms at my church and several of them are considering homeschool. That was so encouraging to me.
2. The things I'm learning in my writing class, I've been passing on to my daughter who has been working on short stories. It's fun to be able to help her in this.
3. I've samed some money on groceries the past two weeks by using the grocery game.
4. I'm feeling supported by friends during a difficult situation that has dragged on for a while now.
I have no idea if anyone out there ever reads these Friday Felicitations of mine, but I do them for me because it is good to think about the good things in life. I encourage you to try it too.
I was tagged by Megan the other day and I've been neglecting my blog lately, so this seems like a good thing to post.
Five things you may not know about me:
1. I love to color with crayons. I like the way they smell. I also like to play with playdough.
2. I get hiccups frequently and cure them with a big spoon of peanut butter.
3. I nearly always use a headset when I'm talking on the phone because I don't like holding the phone. Also I can't talk on the phone and drive at the same time.
4. My favorite children's picture book is Good Night Moon. "In the great green room..."
5. My favorite dessert is a big bowl of vanilla ice cream with lots of chocolate syrup and nuts. At times in my life this has been a daily treat for me. Can't do it daily anymore if I want to fit in my clothes!
Friday Felicitations
I keep thinking these felicitations will be easier to come up with but so far they are not. It is a good habit though, so here goes for this week:
1. I got in some writing time again this week.
2. I received good comments on the prologue and first 3 chapters of the novel I'm working on from the others in my writing class. They gave lots of positive comments and some really good constructive criticism.
3. While reading through the church newsletter today, I found a poem I wrote had been printed.
Passing it on:
1. My husband held a retreat for his board members this week and it went very well.
